Sweet Corn and Other Weird Flavored Sodas!
Have you ever wanted to try soda that tastes like corn? How about dirt? To be honest, even typing this out is making me feel a little ill. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your views), you can try these and many other weird flavours out there!
Lester’s Fixin’s is a company with a mission: Make the weirdest flavours of soda but make it good.
Made in the USA, Lester’s sodas aim to surprise and delight. According to Vat19.com, the truly taste like their advertised flavours. The sodas are made with cane sugar, rather than high fructose corn syrup, but somehow I feel like that’s the least of your concerns when testing these weird flavored sodas.
Lester’s sodas contain flavours such as Bacon, Bacon with Chocolate, Bacon with Maple Syrup, Buffalo Wing, Sweet Corn, Pumpkin Pie, Ranch Dressing, Mustard, Coffee, Maple Syrup, Pickle, Cucumber, and Peanut Butter and Jelly. Supposedly, they taste just as bad as they sound…
After Lester, we have Melba. From what I can tell, Rocket Fizz is a soda company that produces these other labels. While Lester aims to make “real food” flavoured sodas, Melba is going more the dessert route. She has a line of pie flavoured sodas as well as cake flavoured sodas. Pie sodas include Apple, Cherries and Cream, Key Lime, Lemon Meringue, Peaches and Cream, and Strawberries and Cream. Cake sodas include Birthday Cake, Carrot Cake, Coffee Cake, and Strawberry Shortcake. Melba’s Fixin’s also include a Butterscotch Candy soda.
Rocket Fizz, owners of Melba and Lester above, also sell under their own name. Soda’s under the Rocket Fizz label include novelties such as Banana Nut, Black Licorice, Cinnamon, Green Apple Jalapeno, Marshmallow, S’mores, and Watermelon.
Rocket Fizz is at it again with their line of Gourmet Sodas. This line includes different chocolate flavoured sodas, like regular, all natural, chocolate with banana, peanut butter, or strawberry.
Other Rocket Fizz Specialties
Rocket Fizz really wants to own the world of weird flavoured sodas. The following flavours are sold simply under their flavour name. Flavours include Australian Style Hot Ginger Ale, Barf, Butter, Coconut Cream Lime, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bites, Cookies n’ Cream Bites, Fudge Brownie Cookie Dough Bites, Red Velvet Cupcake Cookie Dough Bites, Dirt, Grass, Pineapple Whip, Peanut Butter, Pumpkin, and San Francisco Fog.
Avery’s Sodas is another US soda brand that has a few unique flavours in its line-up. Namely, Birch Beer, Black Raspberry, Half and Half, and Korker. Avery’s also has a line of sodas for kids called “Totally Gross Sodas”, though I don’t know if they make the cut on our list. Despite being named things like Bug Barf, and Unicorn Yak, these sodas are not flavoured as they’re labelled.
Cicero soda makes a number of specialty drinks. Flavours include Candied Bacon, Salted Root Beer, Caramel Apple, Chocolate Hazelnut, and Chocolate Raspberry Truffle,
Teriyaki Beef Soda
Made by Real Soda, this drink supposedly tastes like Teriyaki Beef. With a black pepper aftertaste. But why?
Which of these sodas do you most want to try? How about least? I think I want to try the chocolate soda and the salted root beer. I least want to try Beef Teriyaki, Ranch, and Sweet Corn. Ugh. Let us know in the comments!
